This week, we visit the SE MUSICLAB in Bern, a collaboration between Strauss Elektroakustik GmbH, ant design studio, and Gramazio Kohler Research.
We draw on the work of Chrysippus, Lukrez, and Vitruvius to discuss architectural acoustics and voices in space. We start with a tour of the SE MUSICLAB’s rooms and the robotically fabricated Clay Rotunda. We then move to THE STUDIO to discuss how to talk using the space’s variable acoustics. Finally, we listen to spatial audio in THE LAB and discuss the different architectural and acoustic qualities of each space.
Travel costs are covered by the class.
