Computer simulation enables us to assess and hear a room before it is built. This session is a hands-on tutorial on acoustic simulations. We go through the steps of setting up a model, assigning acoustic material properties to its surfaces, placing sound sources and receivers, running a simulation, and analysing its results. Finally, we look into auralisation, a very useful tool for listening and evaluating how our architectural designs will sound.
In this session, you need to bring your laptop. You will build and run your own simulation in Rhino and Grasshopper.
